Privacy Policy

• Login details. To sign in you give us an email address or a mobile phone number. We use it only to send you a one-time login code and to identify your account — we never ask for a password. We also assign you a random username (like brave_otter_57) that you can change anytime.
• Date of birth.We ask for your date of birth once, when you first sign in, to confirm you meet our 13+ minimum age. It also tells us whether you're under 18 so we can show only non-personalized ads to minors. We store it and never share or sell it.
• Content you create. The settles (questions and options) you post, the votes you cast, and any reports you submit.
• Precise location. If you create or vote on a localsettle, we use your device’s precise location to match the settle’s radius. It is used only for that and is never sold.
• Anonymous activity. Before you sign in, we store a random anonymous ID on your device so your early votes can be linked to your account when you join.
• Notifications. If you turn on push notifications, we store a device token so we can send them.
• Technical data. Basic information such as IP address, device or browser type, and usage, collected by our hosting providers to keep the service running and secure.

• Create and secure your account and send your login codes.
• Run the core features: posting, voting, results, leaderboards, friends, and the Daily Settle.
• Send notifications you’ve opted into.
• Detect abuse, moderate content, and keep things good-natured.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

We use a small set of trusted service providers who process data only to run Settle It for us:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend.
• Resend — delivers your login codes by email.
• Telnyx — delivers your login codes by text.
• Vercel — hosts our website and backend.
• Stripe, Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat — process payments and subscriptions. Billing data is handled by whichever platform you purchase through.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Parts of the app and website show ads served by Google AdMob and Google AdSense. Google may collect and use data (such as device identifiers and ad interactions) to serve and measure ads, under its own policies — see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We don’t use separate analytics trackers of our own today. Premium subscribers don’t see ads.

• Change your username anytime from your profile.
• Turn notifications on or off on your device.
• Access or delete your account and its data — just email us and we’ll take care of it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Contact us to exercise them.

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal information, though anonymized or aggregated data (such as vote tallies) may remain.

Settle It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe someone under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. No method is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
